projection for raster Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

Hello,

I have a shapefile of the world, that I need to convert into ASCII raster, which is used as an input into population genetics software.

I'd like to ask if anyone has a suggestion for an appropriate projection.

- the original data are in WGS84

- I will center the map around ~ +145 degrees of longitude, so that Asia and Americas can be joined

- the raster should be equal-area or very close to (certain parameters are defined for all cells, assuming these have the same area)

- ideally, the distances should be preserved too

Thanks.
