Sensis Chooses deCarta to Power Online and Mobile Properties

deCarta to provide mapping for web portal and mobile applications

SAN JOSE, Calif. and MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 4 — (PRNewswire) — Sensis, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra, Australia's largest mobile network operator and deCarta, the market leader in location-aware software, today announced that deCarta's geospatial software platform will provide the maps and directions for Sensis' online and mobile applications, including Yellow Pages, White Pages, Citysearch and their leading mapping website

Sensis is the leading directory service in Australia who own and operate the Yellow Pages and White Pages businesses. Sensis' online mapping site, provides users with map-based local search for businesses across Australia as well as public places, landmarks and addresses. Once a search results in an appropriate destination, the user receives driving or walking directions to that place.

deCarta's market proven software will be used to provide the maps, the routes and the localized search results on a white label basis, allowing the property to maintain its unique appearance and brand. The maps and routes will use Sensis' own map data to provide highly localized content and context. deCarta's platform which has been used in many of the world's highest volume mapping sites, has proven scalability to manage the highly trafficked suite of sites- Yellow Pages (5m visits per month), White Pages (9m visits per month) and (4m visits per month) while providing an excellent user experience.
