TI challenges top embedded control engineers with Stellaris(R) ARM(R) Cortex(TM)-M3-based MCU design contest

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 3 — (PRNewswire) — Challenging top embedded engineers around the world to demonstrate their skills and innovation, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) today announced the DesignStellaris 2010 contest, which takes place through June 23, 2010. Contestants can win by leveraging the Keil™ Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK-ARM) software tools to create a unique hardware- or software-based application that showcases technologies enabled by the advanced connectivity, data efficiency, motion control features and other functionality of TI's Stellaris® LM3S9B96 microcontroller (MCU) as well as the capabilities of the on-chip SafeRTOS™ real-time operating system from Wittenstein. The contest is co-sponsored by Circuit Cellar magazine. For more information, go to www.ti.com/designstellaris2010pr.

Each entry will be judged equally on technical merit, originality, usefulness, cost-effectiveness and design optimization by an independent panel of judges. Additional points will be awarded for the use of the StellarisWare® IEC60730 library and for applications that improve safety or reliability with SafeRTOS. Winners will be announced at the Embedded Systems Conference Boston 2010 with more than $10,000 in cash prizes and awards to be disbursed.
