Informative Graphics Announces Integrated Redaction for Open Text Livelink ECM Software

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—October 24, 2007— Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in content visualization, secure publishing and collaboration technology, announced the release of its Redact-It(TM) Enterprise Server software for Open Text(R) Livelink ECM. Redact-It removes sensitive content and privacy information like social security numbers, names and phone numbers before making documents available to a wider audience.

Redact-It Enterprise offers batch redaction of document, imaging and PDF files. Users can automatically redact patterns (like social security or phone numbers) and all versions of a person's name or a word or phrase (or list of words/phrases). For example, Redact-It can be used to cleanse privacy information from personal records, including healthcare and immunization records, loan applications and public records. Users can apply zone-based redactions to standard forms, automatically redact all instances of a name or redact text by pattern, such as social security numbers (XXX-XX-XXXX).

Redact-It actually removes the redacted content, so it is irretrievable. And redactions are always created on a rendition of the file, leaving the source file untouched in the repository. No metadata or hidden content is transferred to the rendition. The redaction process can be invoked through a server-side process to redact multiple files in a batch, or through client-side interaction within the Livelink ECM interface.

"The ability to control or remove sensitive information is increasingly important for organizations providing and sharing information," said Gary Heath, President and CEO of IGC. "The integration of Redact-It Enterprise with Open Text ECM is a market first. It is the first enterprise class redaction solution tightly tied to a content repository solution and it provides automated redaction as an effortless part of the workflow process."

With new regulations requiring all industries to make more content publicly available, specifically via the internet, redaction has become the "must have" technology of our time.
