Esri is committed to advances in location intelligence technology, and the creation of R&D centers worldwide plays a key role in that effort. Esri currently has 14 R&D centers around the globe, from Beijing, China, to Zurich, Switzerland. Recently, Esri opened an R&D center in Vienna, Austria—announced as part of the company's acquisition of indoor positioning system (IPS) provider—that is focused on developing cutting-edge IPS capabilities. New Delhi becomes the site of the fifteenth R&D center Esri operates.

"At Esri, we are continually pushing disruption, and we see our mission and goals as being aligned with those of our customers who are also advancing their use of GIS software," said Jack Dangermond, Esri founder and president.
