Mapmechanics Delivered Its Roadmap for Slicker Geographic Analysis with New Online Options, Web-Based Scheduling and Refined Network Analysis at the Technology Forum 2015

LONDON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 23, 2015 — Significant savings in time and money for users of Mapmechanics’ solutions were unveiled in a series of new developments highlighted and previewed at the company’s annual Technology Forum event this month.

The event was held as Mapmechanics was cited as one of the top 100 Oracle Solutions providers in the prestigious CIO Review.

Mapmechanics is a leading specialist in UK and worldwide mapping, demographic data, business intelligence (BI), logistics solutions and geographic information systems (GIS), and its latest advances range over all these areas.

Geoconcept Desktop 7.3, the latest version of the powerful GIS and mapping application, introduces new user modes that make it quicker to set up projects, select colours and other visual features and conduct powerful analysis. An advanced mode allows finer gradations of analysis, for instance enabling several different catchment ranges to be analysed simultaneously.

Geoconcept Web, the online version, now comes in three versions to suit different uses: Starter, Standard (serving up to five websites) and Unlimited (any number of websites) – all controllable by a single administrator. Enhanced functionality replicates even more of the desktop version’s features, and makes this version especially suitable for applications such as incident management in a control room setting.

On the logistics front, Mapmechanics previewed Truckstops Web, a dedicated online implementation of its established routing and scheduling solution. While Truckstops can already be fully web-hosted, this version will exploit the web’s potential further. It adds new features such as a “view only” option, accessible through an application programming interface (API): ideal for multi-user access to plan-versus-actual analysis.

Now in development is Optisite 20, a much updated version of Mapmechanics’ high-level supply-chain planning solution. Combining HERE mapping and online international routing and geocoding with new editing options, Optisite balances resources, locations and fixed and variable costs to propose optimal network designs.

Also previewed was AddressMax, a solution offering premise-level business intelligence. While 51 per cent of properties in Great Britain are not classified, this solution will include information about all of them.
