Nicholas and his partners in Greentree acquired Hard Dollar in June 2004, and he took on the role of full-time president and CEO in January 2008. Hard Dollar has been an Inc. Magazine 500/5000 fastest growing company two years in a row, and has won numerous industry and growth awards.
"I hired Brad in 2011 with the intention of him becoming my successor, so I would be able to focus on other projects. He has built a great professional-services team and instilled a customer-success motivation that has been instrumental in our growth," said Nicholas. "Brad has been involved with other successful growth-stage companies and will make a tremendous leader for Hard Dollar. It is his time, and I'm really excited about the change," Nicholas said.
"The company will more than double its workforce this year and is actively developing several new products. It is a thrilling time for Hard Dollar and its employees, and I have had a blast guiding it to this point. I'm ready to switch my energy to starting something else, doing more angel investing, and mentoring other entrepreneurs and startups," Nicholas added. "I will remain an advisor to Hard Dollar through the end of the year and I look forward to helping with their continued success."
Brad Nickels has worked in a variety of technology and executive management roles, most recently serving as Vice President - Project Management Office for Daon Inc., a world leader in biometric software. At Maximus, Brad functioned as Group President responsible for several operating divisions serving government clients with technology and services solutions. Brad was a co-founder of Tier Technologies, Inc., and was instrumental in its growth from start-up through IPO.
"I'm honored to be taking the reins from Doug, and I look forward to working with the Hard Dollar team to continue the upward trajectory he's driven," said Nickels. "It's an exhilarating time to be a part of Hard Dollar, as we continue to transform the project cost management industry."
