GeoAnalytics® Implements a Non-Fee Interest Application For The South Florida Water Management District

MADISON, WI – June 15, 2009 – GeoAnalytics® Inc., an IT consulting firm that specializes in the planning, design, and implementation of spatial intelligence systems, recently implemented a Non-Fee Interest (NFI) land tracking application for the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The NFI completion is the latest component of the Integrated Real Estate Information System (IRIS) for SFWMD. The IRIS project is part of a the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), a 30-year environmental restoration project. A large portion of the CERP (www.evergladesplan.org) program is acquiring land for regional water resources projects necessitating the need for IRIS.

SFWMD will use the application to track Non-Fee Interest properties. The NFI implementation builds on the ArcMap editing environment known as the Tract Editor Application, provides a versioned, multi-user, ArcSDE-Oracle Geodatabase, and includes data transfer and synchronization components. The project involved validating and integrating information from both the legacy Oracle and GIS databases.

“GeoAnalytics is proud to have assisted SFWMD on implementing the NFI project. SFWMD is responsible for managing water resources and owns large areas of land in South Florida,” said David Mockert, GeoAnalytics Director of State and Local Practice. “The IRIS system supports their management of these land investments and the NFI component provides a means to track specific information regarding these land tracts through an integrated GIS application.”
