Cyient Adopts ikeGPS' IKE 4 for Large-Scale Fiber Deployment

BROOMFIELD, CO--(Marketwired - May 16, 2016) - ikeGPS (NZX: IKE) announces that the communications division of Cyient (NSE: CYIENT) has adopted IKE 4, its fourth-generation field data collection solution, to support large-scale fiber deployments in the United States.

"Cyient is an industry leader that enables utilities and communication companies to operate more efficiently and effectively," says Mike McGill, senior vice president of the utilities business unit at ikeGPS. "ikeGPS is proud to serve Cyient's continual pursuit of better ways to solve tough industry problems. IKE 4 enables utilities, communication and engineering service companies to collect and process field data faster, and we're excited to be a part of Cyient's efforts to improve efficiency and workplace safety."

ikeGPS introduced IKE 4 in early February at the DistribuTECH 2016 Conference & Exhibition. IKE 4 incorporates years of customer feedback and applies the latest technology to advance ikeGPS' focus on setting the standard for locating and measuring utility poles and communication towers for a variety applications, such as aerial fiber deployments, joint-use audits and construction of aerial distribution networks.

IKE 4 is deployed by more than 250 utility companies around the world and incorporates the latest ruggedized mobile hardware and software, including a smartphone-like Android interface. Other enhancements include an upgraded laser and submeter GPS; a 13-megapixel, wide-angle camera; eight to 10 hours of battery life; a sunlight-readable screen; and a cloud service that improves users' ability to manage, share and integrate data with more than 345 applications and formats, including pole loading programs, such as SPIDA®Calc.

"We selected IKE 4 because we believe it will enable us to collect higher-quality data in less time and improve our back-office data management," says Kurt Delia, senior manager at Cyient. "We like how IKE 4 integrates with our GIS system and other applications, such as the pole loading software, SPIDACalc."

About ikeGPS
ikeGPS is changing the way the world is measured, utilizing its smart laser measurement solutions to capture, record and export measurement data. Numerous vertical industries and field data collection-based professionals use ikeGPS products to modernize the way measurements are taken and shared. ikeGPS's product portfolio includes IKE and Spike.

IKE is an all-in-one, configurable hardware and software solution that increases accuracy and quality while reducing costs for electric utilities, communication companies and engineering service providers engaged in aerial fiber deployments, joint-use applications and utility pole-related construction projects. IKE solutions have also been successfully adopted by public safety, civil engineering, transportation, federal and city governments, and intelligence agencies for a variety of field data collection needs.

Spike is a comprehensive but simple-to-use smartphone measurement solution. The Spike device, Spike mobile and web apps, and commercial smartphone or tablets work together to change the way measurements are taken and shared. From a Spike photo, a user can capture measurements, including height, width, area, length and target location. Measurements and location data are saved with the picture and can be easily shared in real time or uploaded to the Spike cloud for further analysis. Spike has been rapidly adopted by numerous industries, including construction, real estate, and sign and graphics for property inspection and building measurements.
