Foundation Software Introduces Green Technology

CLEVELAND — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 9, 2009 — Foundation Software, producer of award-winning FOUNDATION® for Windows® construction accounting, project management and scheduling software, announces the introduction of an eco-friendly green technology. With the addition of two Green Buttons, FOUNDATION will offer a fast and efficient method for users to file and retrieve an unlimited number of system reports, thus reducing the need for printed reports and hard copy filing.

FOUNDATION’s green button technology enables busy contractors to set up separate default folders – on a company-wide basis – for reports generated through each module (e.g., Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Job Costing, General Ledger, and others). Users can then simply click one button (the leaf icon) to save a report and another button (the magnifying glass icon) to instantly look up a report. FOUNDATION’s Green Buttons earn their eco-friendly status by 1) speeding up the processing and handling of files for greater worker productivity and 2) establishing built-in controls that facilitate file sharing and encourage less paper use.

“The real power of FOUNDATION lies in its reporting capabilities, and this technology gives contractors easy access to the reports they need, when they need them,” said Fred Ode, Foundation Software CEO and Chairman. “Along with improved productivity, a huge bonus is the opportunity that it creates for companies to go green.”

FOUNDATION’s green button technology offers users maximum efficiency and flexibility without sacrificing security. For example, users can choose to override default folders in order to store specific reports (such as confidential payroll reports) in private, secure locations. Finding reports – even daily-run reports of the same name – is also easy since each report is time-stamped and users have the ability to change the report name and/or date. Users also have the option of locating reports through their computer’s storage or company network drives rather than through FOUNDATION’s “view report” screen.

Foundation Software Programmer/Analysts Patti Scalfano and Scott Clark developed the green button technology, which is due out with the July 2009 system update of FOUNDATION.
